General

Do I need a reservation?

Walk-ins are welcome, but we recommend booking ahead for larger groups or busy times.

Do you have vegetarian or vegan options?

Yes — we have vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes. Let us know about any allergies.

Can I order takeaway?

Absolutely — order in person or message us ahead and we'll have it ready to go.

Menu

What should I order first?

The crispy duck. It is what we are known for, crunchy outside and tender inside. If you want something richer, ask for the bebek betutu, our slow-cooked spiced duck.

Is the sambal really that hot?

Yes. We serve three kinds and they are not toned down for anyone. If you are not used to spice, ask for a milder one on the side.

Reservations

Does the kitchen really stop at the listed closing time?

Last order is 9pm, even though our listed closing is later. Come before then so you don't get turned away at the door.

Do I need to book ahead?

We take walk-ins, but if you want a table with the full rice-field view, especially for dinner, booking ahead is worth doing.

About

Is this the original Bebek Tepi Sawah?

Yes. This is the original Ubud restaurant among the rice fields — the one regulars call the OG. There are other branches elsewhere, including Jakarta, but this is where it started.
